As an accounting or bookkeeping professional, accounting conferences have always been a consistent way to learn about all the trends emerging in your industry, network with other professionals, and earn CPE credits.

1. Sage Transform 2024 

Dates: February 26-29, 2024

Location: Las Vegas, NV

We love the specific focus this event brings to highlighting women leaders in accounting with the Women to Watch Awards, as well as dedicated sessions on “soft skills” such as overcoming imposter syndrome, paths to leadership, mentorship and allyship, and more. This two-day CalCPA event is full of incredible learning opportunities, and one of our favorite events on the top accounting conferences 2024 list. 

3. AICPA Engage 2024

Dates: June 3-6, 2024

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Keep this on your radar if:

  • You’re an accounting professional looking to keep up with the latest industry trends.

  • You’re a CPA looking to earn CPE credits and meet others in your industry in person.

The AICPA Engage Conference 2024, held in Las Vegas, is a great event to kick off the summer. AICPA Engage 2024 will help you learn about new trends such as asynchronous work, stay updated on changes in the industry, and earn CPE credit at the same time. 

This event is recommended for bookkeeping and accounting professionals whether your focus is in personal finance, audit, financial planning, tax, corporate finance, estate planning, and more. Best of all, attendees can save on fees by registering early for this top accounting conference in 2024.

4. Xerocon 2024

Dates: June 12-13, 2024; August 14-15, 2024

Location: London, England; Nashville, Tennessee

  • You’re a Xero ecosystem partner.

  • Your firm has Xero in your tech stack and you’re looking for other value-add integration partners for your clients.

  • You’re an accountant who wants to start their own Xero-focused accounting firm.

To date, Xero has announced two flagship Xerocon 2024 conferences that will take place in the UK and US. We love the in-depth workshops that Xero has to offer, as well as the focus on their accounting program partners (like our Xero integration). Xero also does a great job with their speaker lineup; past speakers include Indra K. Nooyi, former CEO of Pepsico, and Kristine Lilly, former American soccer champion. Overall, the conference is a great way to integrate and meet other Xero partners in their global community network.

5. Scaling New Heights 2024

Dates: June 16-19, 2024

Location: Orlando, Florida

Keep this on your radar if:

  • You’re an accountant or bookkeeper looking to level up as a trusted advisor and business coach for your clients.

  • You’re primarily focused on helping smaller businesses that use QuickBooks or Xero as their accounting software.

Scaling New Heights 2024 offers tons of content for accounting and bookkeeping professionals across more than 100 educational sessions, some of which cater to more advanced QuickBooks users in particular. Other breakout sessions cover topics such as speaking and writing skills, tax prep and advisory, and business and accounting technology. This four-day accounting conference also uses keynote presentations to explore how advancements in AI and ML might impact the industry moving forward. Keep this event on your radar if you’re looking to expand your skills as a client advisor, especially if you deal with small businesses.

6. SuiteWorld 2024 

Dates: September 9-12, 2024

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Keep this on your radar if:

  • You’re a NetSuite partner and/or customer who is interested in learning more about new product offerings and participating in training opportunities.

  • You’re a leader in your business who is dedicated to promoting women leaders as well as diversity, inclusion, and equity in the accounting profession.

  • Your firm has NetSuite in your recommended app stack and you’re looking for other value-add integration partners for your clients.

While there are hundreds of conferences in Las Vegas, NetSuite’s SuiteWorld 2024 is one that we never miss. Averaging over 7,500 attendees, SuiteWorld is the must-attend annual gathering for the NetSuite community, and a great place to meet current customers face-to-face. As a NetSuite integration partner, it’s no surprise that Expensify is always on the conference floor, whether we’re part of a speaker session or introducing our app to attendees.

7. DCPA 2024

Dates: December 8-11, 2024

Location: Denver, Colorado

Keep this on your radar if: 

  • You’re an accounting firm partner or manager with an interest in the digital trends driving your industry forward. 

  • You’re a CPA looking to earn CPE credits, connect with peers in the profession, and learn more about technology that can help automate your workflows.

DCPA 2024, also known as the Digital CPA conference 2024, puts innovation at the forefront of every conversation. It focuses on helping accounting leaders build the firm of the future by introducing them to new technology that can help streamline their processes and ultimately provide a better client experience. This is one of the last big accounting conferences of the year, so it’s a great way to make some industry connections before the holidays. Oh, and it’s also the perfect opportunity to earn some last-minute CPE credits!

8. QuickBooks Connect Conference 2024

Keep this on your radar if: 

  • You or your firm are a QuickBooks partner or looking to become one.

  • You are looking for ecosystem partners (like Expensify!) that integrate directly with QuickBooks.

  • You’re an accounting professional who would like to earn CPE credits.

We just finished our ninth QuickBooks Connect and can’t wait to make it a decade next year! The QuickBooks Connect conference in 2024 will bring together top accounting professionals, QuickBooks app partners, and other partners for three days of product discussions, thought leadership, product demos, and more. In addition, this Intuit event often has a cast of notable speakers, from Ryan Reynolds to Adam Grant, as well as Intuit leadership, and more. As an ecosystem partner with a direct QuickBooks integration, this is one of our favorite accounting conferences in 2024 because it’s a great place to network and meet potential new customers and partners alike. 

9. Small Business Expo 

Dates: Various, depending on location

Location: 16 locations, including Atlanta, Houston, LA, NYC, Phoenix, and more

Can you earn CPE credits? No

Keep this on your radar if:

  • You’re located in the area, and you are interested in meeting other local business owners. 

  • You’re starting a new business and/or firm and are unsure where to start.

  • You’re looking for new technology solutions.

While this isn’t an accounting-specific conference, we wanted to highlight this event because it’s an easy one to attend if you live in the area. While Expensify attended Small Business Expo LA and NYC, there are 14 additional locations to choose from depending on your business needs. 

Additionally, Small Business Expo is free to attend, is potentially a great way to meet other business owners and professionals in your area, and has plenty of informative sessions around managing and growing your small business, whether you want to increase marketing ROI via paid advertising or learn how to effectively manage your small business spend.
