4 ways we made Expensify’s presence known at SaaStr Annual 2023

This month we had the incredible experience of being the Unicorn sponsor at the SaaStr Annual conference. At Expensify, we believe in going big, and our presence at this conference was no exception.

Our mission was clear: to make a lasting impression, connect with our audience, and proudly wear the badge of a SaaStr success story.

To achieve our goal, we decided to go above and beyond normal sponsorship and make sure to integrate Expensify into every one of the 10,000+ attendee’s conference experiences. 

Here are the top four things we did to make sure Expensify was top of mind when the event was over:

1. We brought a show-stopping booth to foster conversations and connection

Our beloved White Castle, a double-decker travelling lounge inspired by our San Francisco Lounge at 88 Kearney Street, was a huge hit. Downstairs, we handed out our awesome swag and upstairs we served free premium drinks, cocktails, and snacks, and provided an awesome view of the busy hall and stage areas. It quickly became a hub for our customers, exhibitors, sponsors, competitors, and friends alike.

2. We powered conference-wide networking with New Expensify

SaaStr selected New Expensify as the designated chat platform for the event's 200+ speakers and changed how thought leaders connected with their audience, forging enduring connections well beyond the conference's end. With a simple scan of a QR code at the beginning of each session, attendees were dropped into a dynamic chat room, where they could pose questions and engage in real-time dialogues with the speakers, as well as share their insights after the conference ended. 
New Expensify is more than just a powerful tool to connect speakers to their audience; it's a transformative bridge that unites employers with employees, administrators with colleagues, and beyond. Its potential for fostering meaningful connections knows no bounds, and its impact extends far beyond the confines of a single event. 

3. We created a buzz and put $20 cash in everyone’s pocket

Imagine this at your next conference: you scan a lunch receipt, enter some details, and presto, $20 gets deposited into your bank account! Well, the lucky thousands at SaaStr Annual got to experience just that. It wasn't just a promotion; it was a hands-on introduction to the efficiency of New Expensify where attendees got to experience our awesome SmartScan feature at the conference. 4. We packed sessions with our thought leaders for memorable conversations

The SaaStr Annual Conference had amazing sessions by industry leaders including talks led by our Director of Marketing, Global Program Manager, and Chief Operations Officer, each attracting substantial audiences. They not only unveiled the strategies that led to our success but also illuminated the path forward with invaluable insights into the future of SaaS. Their sessions served as a platform for dynamic engagement, welcoming probing questions (in person and via chat in New Expensify), and offering inspiration and insight to budding startups.
