SunCommon, a rapidly growing solar company, is committed to offering customers an accessible and affordable clean energy solution. Employees range from, electricians to marketing directors to executives with purchases such as tools from the local hardware store, fuel, digital advertising, recurring subscription fees, travel expenses, and team offsite expenses like meals and entertainment.

Before Expensify, SunCommon was beholden to a cumbersome paper expense process, antiquated signature approvals, and paper check reimbursement. SunCommon was using Citizens Commercial cards for their credit card line while using the integrated bank feed to Expensify for approval, reconciliation, and integration with NetSuite. By taking advantage of the Expensify Card, SunCommon was able to automate its once-manual processes and quickly getting credit in the hands of their employees for critical company spend.

Why SunCommon selected the Expensify Card

SunCommon was using Citizens Commercial card for their credit card line while using the integrated bank feed to Expensify for approval, reconciliation, and integration with NetSuite. The Expensify Card was recommended and it checked all the boxes — easy-to-use platform, mobile friendly, and integration with NetSuite.

The corporate pricing and discounts were definitely appealing, but Suncommon also liked that it didn't require a lengthy setup or bank integration — it was simply a matter of activating the cards. It made for a super easy transition to a new card/bank- both for the Administrator as well as for the cardholders.

Another favorite feature of the Expensify Card is the ease of distribution of cards/access to credit, as well as the adjustment of credit and deactivation of credit access for terminated cardholders. With a relatively young workforce and a growing business, SunCommon has a lot of roles and responsibilities shifting, and the Expensify card allows them to quickly respond and get sufficient credit access in the right hands.

What has been the internal reaction to Expensify?

“The digital card access is awesome, and the physical card arrived in just two days. Employees really appreciate how easy it is to use, and the fact that the reimbursement drops right into their bank account. Since most employees are submitting expenses from their phones, the ease of use of the app is critical.”

Instead of having to nag employees to complete reports at month end, they’ll complete reports as they spend so their limit resets.
