Expensify and Lyft integration

You’ll be hard-pressed to visit any major city and not see a neon pink “Lyft” sign in the windows of cars across town. Rideshare apps like Lyft have taken over, and for good reason. Their convenience and cost-effectiveness just can’t be beat.

However, what’s often missing from these apps is the ability to easily pull all your charges together to send off to your employer (for work-related trips, that is). That’s why we’ve partnered with Lyft — to automate the expense reporting process. Get ready to ride off into the sunset with Expensify on your next business trip.

Common questions about Expensify and Lyft

Below we answer some of the most commonly asked questions about integrating a rideshare app like Lyft with our expense management platform (heads up: we also integrate with Uber if you prefer that rideshare app instead).

How do I get receipts from Lyft?

Lyft drivers won’t give you a physical receipt. However, you can view digital receipts in the Lyft app under “Ride history” in the main menu. Expensify will automatically import these digital receipts for you if you choose to connect Lyft to Expensify.

What is the expense code for Lyft?

Expense codes for Lyft vary but generally contain a short string of letters and numbers. This unique code can be used to submit expense reports and allow your company’s finance team to easily find the exact ride you are trying to get reimbursed for.

However, if you connect your Lyft account to Expensify, you don’t need to worry about expense codes. We’ll do all that work for you.
